Sophie’s Rock, Hermanus
A Timeless Coastal Retreat in the Heart of Hermanus.
Generations of families have cherished the stunning views of Walker Bay from the iconic stoep of this beautiful property. Situated just a stone’s throw from Sievers Point—one of the region’s prime whale-watching locations—Sophie’s Rock stands gracefully in East Cliff. This Cape Dutch-style home boasts 1920s architectural details like gables, columns, and stained-glass windows, preserving its historical charm. As you step through the courtyard, past a young olive tree, you’re welcomed into a modern open-plan living space where the lounge, dining area, and kitchen overlook the sea. The home beautifully blends old and new, with herringbone brick walkways, Oggie oak floors, and restored timber and teak windows. The house offers six en-suite bedrooms, including a spacious bunk room for children, while a cozy library with its own private porch provides the perfect retreat. Natural light floods the home, creating warm, inviting spaces ideal for relaxation.
